The Train Station

A Modern Farmhouse Designed for Country Living, Family and Entertaining

The Train Station began with a collection of inspiration photos and a vision for something that felt distinctly their own. The homeowners shared ideas and images of architectural details they loved, then trusted the Wieland Builders team and architect to bring those ideas together into a cohesive design. He listened carefully to what they wanted—and when they saw the final design, they knew it was exactly what they had envisioned.

The family wanted the freedom and privacy of country living rather than a typical neighborhood. They found a large property in Hanover Twp. (between Hamilton and Oxford) where the home could be set well back from the road, surrounded by open space and a large pond that became an important part of the setting.

The Modern Farmhouse exterior blends classic and contemporary elements, including multiple gables, cedar columns, exposed timbers, metal accents, board-and-batten details, stone and Hardie siding. A distinctive arched front door adds another layer of character and creates a welcoming focal point beneath the expansive covered front porch.

Designed with family and entertaining in mind, the back of the home extends the living space outdoors with a covered screened-in porch and fireplace overlooking the property. A three-bay garage provides ample room for vehicles and storage, while the outdoor living area takes center stage with a pool and convenient access to a dedicated guest bath.

The home was designed for the way this family loves to live—gathering with friends, welcoming their adult children and grandchildren, and enjoying the privacy and beauty of their country property.

From the inspiration photos to the finished home, The Train Station is a Modern Farmhouse that brings the homeowners’ vision to life while creating a place made for family, entertaining and country living.
